This steel guitar was a birthday gift for Lance Yocom of SPUNE.COM . We wanted as simple a look as possible. Jesse crafted and finished the Ash body, then rear access panel was quarter sawn so the grain would match perfect.
Instead of string ferrels, it was decided to drill the rear access panel and leave the main body completely smooth, the result was perfect. The body cavity was fully shielded to reduce interference. Standard 500k audio taper pots were used for the volume and tone controls then finished off with Vintage style chicken head knobs.
The pickup was hand wound a single coil curtosy of Jeff.
For the cleanest look possible only magnetized adjustable poles were fitted through the body.
The SPUNE logo and fret markers were hand painted in silver laquor by Jeff then sealed with clear laquor.
The bridges are fashioned from tempered steel and finished in the same silver and clear laquor.
